Mold Mitigation & Remediation

We can’t sugarcoat how frustrating and troubling finding mold colonies in your home or business can be. Living in the midst of mold can be dangerous — airborne toxins and spores have been known to contribute to respiratory inflammation, allergies and other issues. And if you’re trying to sell a commercial or residential building, nothing sends potential buyers running like the sight (or smell) of a mold problem.

What we can do, here at Choice Property Restoration, is take some of the worry off your shoulders. Our experienced technicians are trained to safely work with mold problems, to properly root out the source of those issues, repair them, mitigate mold growth and return the structure to being a safe place to live and breathe. When you bring Choice Property Restoration in, you can rest easy that your problem is being addressed by meticulous professionals who are determined to mitigate your mold problem, and mitigate your stress.

Stopping Your Mold Problem Is a Detailed Process

Preparation and repair                                                                                                                                                                                                                               The key to properly clearing up a mold problem doesn’t lie in just cleaning the affected areas. We need to find what’s causing the mold to colonize — i.e., root out your moisture problems — and make repairs. The cleanup process needs to be carefully regimented, too, to ensure that mold spores don’t spread and grow elsewhere. Our technicians are trained to handle that work right, start to finish.

In cases of leaks rather than flood conditions, restoration won’t and can’t be completed until damaged areas are repaired to ensure that leaks or other water and moisture problems aren’t going to occur again. That’s why diagnosis is generally the first step in our process.

When our technicians begin the mold mitigation and remediation process, we also need to determine what materials can be cleaned and what needs to be replaced. It’s a big part of properly — and safely — removing a mold colony.

Another important part of mold removal that many people don’t consider: containment. Mold spores travel through the air, so containing as we clean ensures that we’re not spreading spores throughout the structure. When mold isn’t properly contained, remediation attempts can turn out to be futile, as the spores end up moving throughout the structure, finding moisture and growing all over again. Our professional technicians use industry-leading tools that contain HEPA filters to thoroughly and safely contain mold as we clean.

Cleaning, drying and restoration
When repairs are made and we’ve gone through remediation procedures, items will be carefully cleaned (with attention being paid to containing any remaining mold spores), before the area is thoroughly dried using proper tools and methods. That can include high-speed air movers and various dehumidifiers. Once mold-affected areas are thoroughly cleaned and dry, the restoration process — uniquely designed to meet the needs of your home or business — can be completed.

Always: Safety First
Safety is at the forefront of what we do — mold can be dangerous to work around and breathe in, which is why it’s generally advised to contract the help of professionals to take care of mold issues. Our technicians use professional-grade protective gear and are trained to safely handle mold-covered materials.
